County: June Unemployment at 11.7%

The News & Record is reporting that June unemployment in Guilford County rose again to 11.7%.

In another article, they report that 227 positions at UNCG and NC A&T would be eliminated in a proposed budget cutback.

The paper also reports that Greensboro College is laying off 10 positions.

Looks like that near trillion dollar stimulus bill that Congress passed is working out so well for us!  How much is a trillion again?

One wonders what sort of bloat we have here in our own state-funded schools, UNCG and NC A&T.   The Education industry has boomed in the past two decades.  Where there is fast growth, there is waste and inefficiency.

Just what are we taxpayers paying for?
