Other Assorted Information

Guilford County Interesting Links

Guilford County website

Event Calendar:  All sorts of interesting meetings are listed here!

Guilford County Schools Indicators of Success: “saluting excellence in Guilford County Schools….showcase[ing] district achievements and individual recognitions. We’re proud of our educators and students and thankful for their contributions to our schools.”  But seriously, there’s some interesting stuff there.

Greensboro Interesting Links

Economic Stimulus Plans: how much GSO is getting from the federal stimulus package and what they are planning on doing with the money.

Urban Loop Locator (It’s really quite fascinating for other things — look up your own address & check it out! Also, not the ridiculous disclaimer that you can’t actually use this site for determining the path of the urban loop!)

Greensboro Police Department Monthly Newsletter (Don’t ask me why the most recent is April 2009 — hopefully they will update it soon!)

NC Interesting Links

NC General Statutes:  All the laws that govern this fair state.  Some fascinating reading in there!  Who knew there was a section on Sales of Artwork?  Perhaps we are a bit overregulated here in NC?

National Interesting Links

Thomas (Library of Congress) Bills/Resolutions Search for “legislation and information about legislation” (!).  An excellent resource & a good place to go when someone tells you about a potential scary bill they heard is making its way through Congress.  One of the many pieces of information you can find out about a bill is where it is currently in the lengthy process of making its way towards a floor vote.
