Feds Want Warrentless Access to E-Mails

This is really scary.  The Justice Department is demanding that Yahoo! turn over e-mail records from one of its users without a search warrant.  Apparently if emails are stored on your computer (a rarity anymore), the government needs a warrant to retrieve them but they are arguing that if they are in “the cloud” (that is, not on your home computer, then they should need no warrant.  You can read more about it here and the Electronic Frontier Foundation has even more information, including links to other news stories about it, here.  This comes shortly on the heels of the DOJ claiming that Americans can have no expectation of privacy in regards to the location of their mobile phones.  Also scary.
