Just by listening to a couple of songs by John Lennon and George Harrison*, it becomes painfully obvious that the Beatles could never have continued writing songs together — the worldviews of two of their members were just completely at odds with each other.
Just compare Imagine (“Imagine all the people, Living for today”) with Think for Yourself (“You’re telling all those lies, About the good things that we can have,
If we close our eyes”) and you’ll see what I mean. It’s a fun little exercise that will, hopefully, get you thinking about how you feel about the issues that are presented, however creatively.
