NC Republicans Considering Closing Primaries

According to the N&R.  Supposedly, “open primaries have diluted the Republican brand”.  Right.  If they go ahead with this, it will just show how out of touch the Republicans really have gotten.  It is too bad it is so damn difficult to get on the ballot as a third party or independent candidate in NC.

These open primaries have given us the present collection of RINOS. Why even call it a Republican primary if anyone can vote and skew the results? I support closed primaries or local and state wide nominating conventions.

I highly doubt it is the open primaries that have led to the proliferation of RINOs in the Republican party. I think it is more that the Party bigshots were taking the MSMs suggestions on running “winnable” candidates. Why they were taking suggestions from a liberal media that fervently hoped none of them would win is beyond me.
